Bomb from the Second World War found in Mostar
A bomb dating from the Second World War, found two days ago in a vineyard in the Mostar settlement of Rodoc, has been removed from this site. The found AN M64 air bomb, made in the USA, weighs about 230 kilograms, and it is estimated that it was filled with 120 kilograms of explosives.
In the coming days, it will be established what kind of filling it is, because there are markings on the rings, which have not been visible until today. A mitigating circumstance is the fact that the area where the bomb was found is not inhabited.
Zlatko Serdarevic, a ballistics expert from Mostar, said that many explosive devices from the period of the Second World War had been found throughout history, the largest being found before the last war in BiH, at a location near the former Jugoplastika building.
During the excavation and transport, security measures were at a high level, and the Federal Civil Protection Administration said that they have extensive experience with bombs of this type, and that a total of 18 such projectiles have been found in this area so far.
