An Amended Indictment was filed against Netanyahu

An indictment against Netanyahu was amended in File 4000 and all the terms attributed to him and his family were deleted from it, and then was submitted to the District Court, according to Israeli media.

Netanyahu’s trial opened in May. Though the prime minister attended the first hearing, he was granted an exemption from appearing at later, largely procedural stages of the trial. Netanyahu faces charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

According to the Israeli website, the amended indictment included detailed informations on 315 detailed charges that include requests from the Israeli website “Walla”, owned by Elovitch, to improve coverage of Netanyahu and his family.

The Israeli prosecution reported that out of the 230 requests, there are indications that Netanyahu was involved with 150 requests for himself and his family.

According to the amended indictment, the focus was on numerous requests made by Netanyahu to enchance his image for a better media coverage. Requests included an increase in showtime of positive news about him and his family. Additionally, the same requests seeks to highlight negative coverage of his political rivals and to prevent any interview with him from being broadcasted.

The amended indictment also included requests for Netanyahu related to his competitors, for example, a request to publish news related to Naftali Bennett’s support for Tzipi Livni and Shelly Yachimovich.
